The much loved Harry Potter Room (AKA the Monks Room, Reading Room, and 4 Central) will be open again Fall Quarter, 2008.  As posted in my final 14 Days post in May work to repair water damage will proceed over the summer.  The room will not be altered and if not actually open when classes begin should reopen within a couple of weeks.

I am new at Western and love Harry Potter books. I wish to study there too. However, that room seems very big, so it may be good idea to put on the sign of quiet zone, no loud music on head phone.

I would like all of the library to be open. The Harry Potter Room. Also the balconies. They are perfect for good reading.

Completely agreed. I would be a happy, happy woman if Wilson 4 Central made a comeback.

I loved how that room looked and I can't say that for any other room I've been in in the library. I'd never heard it called the harry potter room, but that's what it always reminded me of. I totally agree about the ugly orange seatting and depressing colors in the rest of the building. I've tried to study else where in the library since the construction, but I just want to leave as soon as I get there!

The Harry Potter room is the coolest place in Wilson! (and to be honest, I never knew what it's official name was, I just knew it as the Harry Potter room). I also struggle with the rest of Wilson's aesthetics...like the classical-ish architecture on the second floor is nice (seems to suggest, to my mindset anyway, an elevation in educational aspirations), but the colors...pastel pinks and purples are outdated. Please stick with one theme at a time. It would be fantastic if the walls weren't that pinkish-brown color (that color is always used in places like hospitals. yuck). Please update the furnature, especially the bright orange couches/chairs...they're ugly, waaay too old, and uncomfortable.
