I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have taken the time to offer your ideas and feedback about The Western Libraries. I've been eagerly reading these and am looking forward to working with all of you to answer your needs, whether they be quiet in the library, the construction of a cafe, installing a book drop on the south side of campus or investigating the feasability of longer library hours and/or a 24 hour study space. I'm very excited to be coming to a place where the students, faculty and staff care so much about their library.
After I arrive, I'll be working with the faculty and staff of the Libraries to further explore, answer and act on many of the ideas you have provided. As we work in the coming months to clarify our mission and create a plan to lead us in the direction all of us want the Libraries to go, we will continue to seek feedback along the lines of "14 Days to Have Your Say" and last year's LibQual survey. We are your library, and as such we endeavor to serve you to the best of our ability, providing you with the information and services you need when and where you need them.
Thanks again, and whether it's through this venue or by dropping by my office after June 1st, keep the ideas coming. We're listening.
Sincerely,
Chris
