Western alumni should be able to access library resources and check out materials. Alumni should not need to be members of the WWU Alumni Association to use the library. The library provides valuable resources and services. Alumni need to keep up with changes in their field and related fields. The Library provides resources that are simply not available in community libraries.

Alumni should have access
Alumni - and the rest of Bellingham - should be allowed to borrow from the library.
I agree
WWU Alumni should be able to access resources here at WWU, although have priority going to current students.
And what about the community's needs?
I'm surprised to hear that alumni can't use library resources. I think that is absurd. I feel that both alumni and the greater Bellingham community should have access to library resources.
I totally agree!
I am about to graduate and will be applying to grad school and I might need to do research and stuff prior to getting into grad school and it would be very hard to do so at a public library or without being able to check stuff out.
Also, I pay taxes for this school and I paid years of tuition for it, I think I should be able to benefit from that. I didn't invest just money into the school either but also time and commitment to campus programs. I don't like the idea of just being cut off as soon as I get a diploma.
