Western should hand out library cards to local people. Their tax dollars pay for our school, and an action as such would help de-isolate the university from the greater Bellingham community, as well as offer educational resources to those that are not enrolled.

Yes, all of Bellingham should have access
The campus community is already so isolated from any of off-campus Bellingham. Library borrowing is unavailable to off-campus people (except for those who pay a hefty fee), and it keeps non-WWU Bellingham out.
All of the community of Bellingham is available to WWU students who come and go, but WWU hoards its resources and excludes the non-campus community.
