As a student who enjoys studying in the late hours of the library (9-midnight), I often feel frustrated with the closure at midnight, especially when I have an important test or assignment I'm preparing for. I normally don't look forward to going home at this time with incomplete work when I'm sure to lose focus to distractions. I see the library as a great haven for focus.
I've felt many times that it would be great, especially now that the library is changing management, if the hours could be extended to 1 or even 2 am closure on week nights, and 7 or 8pm on weekends. The weekend part may be asking too much, but I'm sure there's plenty of students out there who feel the same way about week day hours. Please give this careful consideration for us late night studyers. I've heard that many other schools have libraries that stay open till 2 or 3 am. Thanks.

I agree completely
I have to say I was wondering about this topic. Now that we have the chance to reach a new administrator I think that late hours (in at least part of the library), or possibly the re opening of the reading room would be a great change. My neighbors at my appartment are loud, sporatic, and will pretty much get in the way of serious study. Yell at them to turn their music down and they might just turn it up out of spite. The library on the other hand is ideal, giving the right resources and atmosphere to let me study.
I would also really appreciate late hours on friday, saturday, or both. Even if it was just some small room at the library or just the reading room. Studying in the evening at home is not an option for me. and if i put off a project untill sunday night, well then I might have to pull an all nighter and end up with poor work.
Also a suggestion: we could start a log book or signature collection at the library of who would actually want late hours on a weekend. I understand that it could take much more staffing and resourses to support additional hours, especially on a weekend at a college campus. So if it turns out that lots of folks are interested it might validate our requests.
Thank you for you time

Hours
On campus is the best place to get studying done, becuase of the reduced level of distractions. I too am a student who likes to their studying in the evening, and would jump all over late night hours if they were available.
