Latter hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday would be great. Western (and most universities I think) are not geared towards working students, at all. Expanding the weekend hours would greatly help those who have to to most of their schoolwork on the weekends.

LIBRARY HOURS - Library Response, Sept. 2008
Weekend hours, longer hours, 24 hour library access. These are all variations of the larger issue that was raised by many, many 14 Days participants - library hours!
This is one of the most complex issues we face because it involves such limited resources as funding for added hours & staffing as well as real concerns such as personal safety, building security & levels of service expected by students during the wee hours. For this reason we are planning a special Brown Bag Lunch With The Dean event just to talk about library hours.
We need a clearer picture of what students want and expect as well as an opportunity to explain what some of the limiting factors are and brainstorm what might be creative solutions.
The brown bag event is tentatively scheduled for noon-time on Wednesday, October 15th in the Skybridge. That's the day after the library's open house! Mark your calendar and plan to attend.

I agree, some of us do
I agree, some of us do homework on the weekends too!
longer weekend hours
i think that it would be beneficial to have longer library hours on friday saturday and sunday.
Weekend hours
While I have rarely utilized the library's late hours on weekdays, I have frequently lamented the fact that I cannot visit the library after 6 PM on Friday and Saturdays. I am sure that extended hours would also be welcome for student workers.
I agree--having the library
I agree--having the library open until midnight every night except Friday and Saturday has always seemed a bit ridiculous to me. Because of early class hours, those are the only two nights out of the week I could actually stay up that late to study. I don't know if these hours are supposed to encourage students to go have fun on weekends or something, but as a grad student I'm not necessarily going out all the time on weekends anyway. Later Friday and Saturday hours would be great.
