I'm not sure about the legality of these devices, but I know I've heard about movie theaters and other establishments using them.

Make the Library A LIBRARY

The library should be accessible as a place to study and read at all times. At least one area should remain open 24 hours a day (Perhaps restricted to students/staff/faculty as UW does for its 24 hour access?) to allow persons to work on their own schedule.
Currently there is no place on campus to study once the library closes. I do not enjoy having the lights turned off and being asked to leave when I have more to do.
