The collection of the Western Libraries is an amazing resource – the books (a great fiction section of American, British, and Canadian lit), periodicals, and online journal access. And it seems that the staff works hard to manage it all and to serve the patrons, thank you very much.

I appreciate the efforts to expand and feature the Diversity selection.

Thank you for allowing the circulation of periodicals; I hope it continues, though I worry about the wear and tear on the less durable ones – maybe they should be checked out with a cover of some kind.

In being a student worker at the library, I often have to go to multiple other library offices and work stations other than my own. However, since there is nothing to indicate the fact that I actually do work in the library, I have to explain myself every time, like a regular student walking into a 'staff only' area.

Would it not be more simple to just have some kind of ID for the student workers? ID badges, shirts, armbands, jackets, top hats, anything that would classify us as workers.

Perhaps there should be a required (like English 101, or a GUR) class for the library. Nothing too complicated, but it should include a physical tour of the library (e.g. distinguish between the Haggard and Wilson buildings), a lesson on how the LC call numbers work, and basic searches in the library catalog (e.g. how to find books, reference material, movies, journal articles etc.) It could explain Summit and ILLiad and the differences between the two. It could explain the print stations for the computers and the uses for the Western card (for check-out and as a copy card).

Pay staff more money, they do a great job!!!
ps please place a drop box drive thru at the security bldg(so. campus)....how about a book pick up there too....

Better pay for student workers, especially the long-term ones that work hard! Either (1) more than 10 cents every three quarters or (2) pay raises more often than every three quarters. I love working at the library but at times I feel a bit unfairly compensated.

No other campus service employs more honest, friendly and helpful people. When I go to the library I can always count on getting assistance from someone who will have a smile on their face and reply with a "you're welcome" when I say "thank you." I would like to see this continue and I think it is an important thing to commend. Thank you to the library staff for being such great people.
